Traffic violations vis-a-vis insurance premiums.

If you think traffic violations don’t affect your car insurance premium, think again. We all know how the insurances work, right? They’re their for “damage” reasons (getting hit by some other car, having a mishap and so on and so forth) and traffic violations aren’t supposed to be treated as something different. In fact, traffic violations are the precursors of most car accidents in the United States (and in all parts of the world). Whether you got a ticket for speeding, illegal parking, beating the red light and the like, expect that your car insurance premiums will have a much narrow coverage the next time you violate.

What Is Auto Insurance?

Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

For car owners, auto insurance is not just an option, but rather it is a legal necessity. If you get into an accident, or if your car is stolen or damaged, you need insurance so that repair costs or the loss will not be too heavy a burden. So what really is this auto insurance? Is it an easy way to get easy money in just an instant? Or is it just another problem that will just cover up another one in times of need?

The first time I read about auto insurance information online, I felt it’s a way to get a rush of money so easily, in a flash. Well it sounds cool but I never knew that auto insurance would involve a lot of things.

Having auto insurance will essentially cover up for financial losses in certain instances. Coverage will usually be in the following forms:

  1. Property coverage – payment received from damages and theft
  2. Liability coverage – payment for accident related injuries and property damage.
  3. Medical coverage – payment for injuries, medical operation cost, rehabilitation, funeral expenses.

In other words it is one means to get yourself secured, whatever happens to you or your car.

Women get lower insurance premiums

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

Before you scream “sexist” and “discrimination”, there’s a legitimate reason insurance companies give women lower premiums on their car / auto insurance. This is simply because of their reputation and attitudes on the road. Women drivers are less inclined to aggressive and risky driving behavior, as opposed to their male counterparts. They have higher degrees of concentration and attention to detail, which makes them more efficient drivers on the road. They are also less likely to break traffic rules or purchase fast cars (or impractical cars just because of their “cool” factor) or drive extra fast, which makes them low risk drivers. This in turn, leads to a lower incidence of filing for car insurance claims from women. This also has led to some car insurance companies who cater only to female drivers. So if you’re a female driver looking for car insurance, you might want to check these companies out.

Beware These Accident Scams!

Monday, September 29th, 2008

Imagine these scenarios:
First scenario: A driver gets in front of an your car and then slams on their brakes. This causes the you to rear-end the scam driver. Aside from collecting money for vehicle damages, the scam driver will also fake medical injuries to collect even more.
Second Scenario: A car in front of you waves to let you pass him in traffic. When you do, he crashes into you, then later denies waving you in.
These are just some of the types of car insurance accident scams being perpetrated today. You may have heard about it, you might have even been a victim of it. Since these scams can happen at any time and place, it is important to be prepared. Watch out for drivers who may be following you or examining your driving habits. Make sure you leave plenty of room in front of you in order to stop. If an accident does happen, take notes on everything about the other car, the accident, and everybody that was in the other car. Keep a disposable camera in your car to record damage to both vehicles. Remember, these scams are not only costly for you, they may even cost you your life.

Reality of quote finders.

Quote finders work this way: you input your personal information and other details regarding your car, the website then “analyzes” your car’s value and gives you the best deals you could possibly find.

Bad news. Most quote finders don’t work that way. They work like sponsored search engines. Yes, they might give you good deals but probably not the best in town. Since they are sponsored (by some company), they will most likely bring back queries that will lead you to their sponsor. What you can do is to look for other quote finder websites and compare, always compare. Who knows? Your next search might be cheaper than your first.

New York City is one of the most expensive cities to live in. If you’re wealthy (perhaps that’s one of the reasons why you’re living there) and can live up with the expensive cost of living, then read no further. You probably have a hefty car insurance of your own. But for those who are there because of some other reasons (i.e. job relocation and the like), this one’s for you.

Normally, car insurance in New York costs around $10,000.00 for property damage and a whopping $50,000.00 for basic coverage. These are pretty costly for an upper-middle individual; however, you could actually find some cheap auto insurance for your car online. Autosinfo is an online quote finder for cheap car insurances. Better check their website now to find out more.
